At high doses, hallucinations and loss of contact with reality result. The duration of action may be 16-24 h. Its LD50 is in mice 36 mg/kg, i.v., in rats 32.5 mg/ kg, i.p., in dogs 7.2 mg/kg, i.v., and in monkeys 8 mg/kg, i.v.
